🔗 Dorman Parking Brake Cable C660458 for Ford Models - Enhanced Compatibility Review

I first looked at reviews where others said they had to modify them to fit. Didn't have to modify anything, fits like it came from the factory. If you need to replace yours I recommend these replacement brake cables.

Fit was good. The compression between the fuel lines and bodywork on the passenger side of my 2002 Ford Focus (with rear calipers) where the cable was to be placed was too tight for the cable brace to go through. I had to unplug the left cable from the included link so I could complete the installation by routing the cable the other way. I survived it.

It has been 3 years since the last two reviews. They must have changed them since then because it was a straight fit and the braces that came with them were exactly the same as stock. This is the only svt parking brake I could find. My old driver's side cable has been confiscated since I got the car 5 years ago and now that this is my first time owning it the parking brake is finally locking both rear wheels at half power. I'll probably buy another pair to have in a few years when these go bad…

It wasn't until I bought these cables that I spoke to a Ford rep to find out I could buy real Ford cables for only $15 more and have less hassle . These cables are the correct length but may be a bit short. The plastic case is larger in diameter than the Ford metal case and therefore will NOT fit the plastic clips on the underside of the vehicle. I had to use zip ties to secure the cables. Also missing are two very useful brackets that keep the cable away from the trailing arm. Ford cables…

As another reviewer noted they omit the cleats that normally come with original Ford cables and instead use a different shaped cleat which is still in use can be used to secure them. but they are more fragile. The diameter of the cable body is much wider and less flexible than that of the shaft. This probably doesn't matter if you're just replacing the originals, but it's an issue if you're using them for a client application where a smaller bend radius is important.
