infamous 5.3L oil pressure issue

noticed ZERO oil pressure on my 2013 Avalanche. It was just a sensor. PITA for installing but that's not this product's fault.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • updates

Good replacement!

This sensor was identical to the factory sensor I replaced. It was a bitch to fix, but my truck is showing oil pressure again. Good price

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad

So far so good on gearboxes and parts

This is the second time I have to change this part. Installation is a bit tricky if you have big hands. Once in it seems to work well so we'll see how long it lasts.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Zero

I bought the wrong item. I'm sure it works great

The only thing I hate (it's not Dorman's problem) is the location of that stupid sensor. I drove behind the engine, straight into the fire wall. 4 hours work for. $20 each

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

3 hours plug removal, replacement 20 minutes.

2011 Chevrolet Avalanche has been damaged. Fits perfectly. Very important. Complete with filter. It's not that hard to install BUT it's hard to get to. Also, it took about 20 minutes to install, just under 3 hours to remove the old plug.

Pros
  • Quality build

Perfect replacement

I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado Flex Fuel. It was a direct replacement and fit perfectly. It's not the easiest job in the world just because it's hard to get. I used a few simple tools that most mechanics have. Due to the size of my arms and hands, my wife helped out when things got tight.

Yes it works. Fits transmission and parts

Replaced the oil pressure sensor and strainer in my 2011 5.3L Chevy Avalanche engine. It was a little fiddly, but I was able to reach it with a deep socket and an extension cord to pull it out and then manually unscrew it. Use a small "tooth hook" style hook to pry the screen out. My old screen wasn't that bad but replaced it anyway. Low oil pressure issue fixed!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Some minor things

Problem summary and installation

To replace:1. Disconnect the connector, you may need to pull the gray plastic retainer and then push out the connector.2. Use a 27mm deep socket to loosen the sensor. A 2 inch extension and universal joint are highly recommended. Manually remove the sensor.3. I didn't have a filter in my engine (LC9) but others have a filter that you may need to replace. Pull out the filter with a long pick and replace it.4. Install the sensor by hand and tighten with a 27mm deep socket.5. Connect the sensor…
