💧 Dow Corning Clear 732 Multi-Purpose Sealant, 300 mL -60 to 180°C (1892070) Review

One of the flexible lines is leaking from the hot tub. I had spare line and tools to get the job done, but the section was so short I couldn't do it without removing the entire skimmer basket assembly. We were concerned it would be a problem sealing it so it wouldn't leak, but liberal application of this sealant did the job.

This is the original RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) formula. I first used it in the 1970's to mount marine radios on any type of surface and to seal holes in ship hulls exposed to high humidity and salt water. It lasts forever and doesn't harden or crack - years later it still has a rubbery consistency. Silicone adhesive emits acetic acid fumes when curing; You know you have good things! The (reusable) lid actually works well. My previous batch expired on 11/2013 but things were like new.
