Dremel 654 Straight Routing Bit: Precision Cutting Tool for Woodworking and DIY Projects Review

A bit disappointed to be honest. slightly shorter, the cut of the edges was not very good. Maybe I should have known these things when I ordered the racket.

Exactly what I was looking for. I needed a great nozzle to use with a rotary tool to clean the edges of some signs. I don't need it all the time, but it fits a need that comes up from time to time. Dremel bits always work better and stay sharper than Chinese imitations.

After two passes over a groove in a pine board, the shaft broke (see photo). The shaft must have hardened too much and become too brittle. The cutter did not overheat, the wood did not burn. I tried to return an item but I get a message saying it's non-refundable. I also assumed it was made in the USA and the inside of the box said 'Made in China'.

Doesn't look very sharp. I needed something similar to carve a small bag in wood. Accuracy wasn't required and I figured it would make my life easier than drilling and chiselling. It's not like this. I was able to extract most of the material with it, but it's by no means an end mill, and it barely works as a router due to the angle of the blades and their dullness. I'm not sure if that would even work on harder woods. I've used it on pine trees.

I love my dremel. I don't use it often, but every time I'm glad I bought it. The basic package I received had a bit of routing, but it required a lot of effort for little payoff. This one has a lot more bite and makes routing holes and shapes much easier. The drill bit is SHARP so it doesn't generate much heat either, which is a good thing because almost every drill bit I have for my Dremel will burn the wood I'm cutting unless I move very, very slowly. It was the missing piece in my collection

I needed to cut hinges and a through lock on an empty door I was installing. I don't have a trimmer so I used this little Dremel attachment in my drywall router. It worked great and gave me a professional result. Just walk slowly so you don't overheat and turn blue. The bit itself is not bad, only the idea of using a Dremel as a router is completely idiotic.
