Diamond Coated Tools will work best if you use water to keep the tools cool.
Very good quality, easily cut through our floor project which was 1/4" cement board and 2 layers of 3/4" plywood. Haven't used it on tiles yet but I suspect the results will be similar.
Pros
This is a very rare size. Save 80% compared to stores.
This drill worked well for what I was using it for. The only thing I complain about is the lack of a guide device or place to mount it on the pilot drill. It's not bad and typical of these beats. A simple task is to drill out a piece of scrap metal and clamp it onto the piece you actually need to drill and it will drill perfectly without wandering or scratching the tile. Otherwise this drill worked great and made nice clean cuts.
Pros
DOES NOT run dry. Diamond coated tools work best when you use water to cool the tools.
Purchased to cut a few holes in hard, large tile. Hole saws look flimsy, but they do the job well. We used a low-speed cordless drill and a spray can (a bottle of recycled glass cleaner) to keep the tiles wet. Scrap the tile and then use that tile as a positioning device to keep the saw stationary when it's started. Once we got a few millimeters into the tile we were able to remove the jig (and the water only runs down the side of the hole saw so the jig doesn't really cause any problems.)β¦
