High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Black oxide treatment adds lubricity and creates small pockets on the surface of the tool that act to hold coolant near the cutting edge. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. 29 piece drill blank set comes in a metal case.

I think they're good for what they are - I just wanted to know what they are.

I bought two of these sets both from Revain not a third party. Be a real Qualtech box with a nice Huot index inside. The other came in a plain brown box, with no branding or branding, and a stack of barcodes, one on top of the other. Inside was an unnecessary generic pointer that barely opened and closed.
