Review on Drill America DWD29J DB SET Qualtech High Speed by Ralph Banks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I think they're good for what they are - I just wanted to know what they are.

I bought two of these sets both from Revain not a third party. Be a real Qualtech box with a nice Huot index inside. The other came in a plain brown box, with no branding or branding, and a stack of barcodes, one on top of the other. Inside was an unnecessary generic pointer that barely opened and closed. Let's get to the gaps. A sentence appears to be a hodgepodge of gaps from at least four different sources. It has three different end styles - brushed square, beveled and pointed, as well as four different size marker styles - unmarked, engraved with the word "China", imprinted and imprinted "USA". The other set is a matching set that is fully printed with size and "PTD USA" which is similar to the precision twist drill markings except they moved their production from Illinois to Brazil a few years ago. and since then I haven't seen anything with PTD USA on it. So I have no idea where they were made or what they are made of. I have to assume that even those stamped "USA" are Chinese knockoffs. But they all seem to match in size and roundness. This makes them perfect for my purposes, size and positioning. This is for non-standard floor tools as I doubt the metal is of good quality.

Pros
  • HSS tools are good for most general purpose applications and offer a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance
Cons
  • unreliable
