Description of πŸ”ͺ High Speed Polished Diameter Cutting Tools by Drill America

High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Available in polished finish. Weldon shanks feature a round shank with one of more flats machined into the side for easy indexing and alignment. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. Designed to machine most materials of medium hardness such as steel, brass, bronze and iron.

Cut a 1/2 inch diameter at the end of the ball.

Seems pretty good. Used to cut a soft jaw groove for clamping round work pieces, but even a larger work piece is really loose! This thing slices way too much at the end of the ball. Something is wrong with the grinding. If you need to round an inside corner, that's fine. If you want a 1/2" round bottom groove, keep something about half an inch in diameter, forget it!

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good quality tool

Good quality tool with good surface finish and accurate cutouts. Only used for a few cuts so can't comment on longevity.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin

Cuts 1/2 " diameter at the end of the ball.

Seems good enough. Used to cut a groove for soft jaws, to clamp a round workpiece, but do it yourself a larger work piece is really suitable holding something about half an inch in diameter, forget it!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
