Bad design with uneven surface for filament spool

This design is good when it comes to being metallic. But it has one major downside. Below is a spot that isn't flat, I don't know why. If your thread spool is not the right size, it will cause big problems. The bobbins force the thread underneath, causing tension that breaks the needle. Happened 4 times already and I just twisted the piece of wire and didn't use the base. Hits most of the target. The bottom must be flat, not concave!

Pros
  • Dritz-Cone filament holder
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

A little uneven around the edges but a good buy

I bought a holder so I can use bigger spools (haven't tried the cone yet). My inexpensive machine only supports vertical bobbins, not cross-wound bobbins. I'm happy with how it works. It's heavy enough to be stable enough. My only minor complaint would be that there are some sharp spots on the underside that I thought might scratch my table. I'll probably glue some felt to it. Now it's on a cardboard keychain. It's pretty minor and easy to fix, so I won't lower my rating because of it. However,

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

This Dritz Cone Thread Holder is just what I need to use the large thread cones with my Baby Lock Sewing/Embroidery Machine. It has a weighted base, holds my filament securely and ensures my filament goes through the top of my machine. Works well and seems to last forever. Very, very happy with this reel seat from Dritz. Good tool but poor workmanship

First I chose the Dritz 896 because it looked sturdy and the main shaft is one piece. Other similar items have a shaft that consists of two parts that connect and are very weak. It's a really good solid strong tool and it's heavy enough to work with the big 5700 yard V69 cones I use. My rating is based on the poor quality of the bar chrome plating. The plating on what I received was quite rough in places and it looks like the bar was shaped after the plating because the inside of the curves had
