Probably great for the skin.

If you're worried about getting wax on the fabric, you're right. It gets on your fingers and you can't help but get it on the fabric. So if you hear that you need waxed yarn for tufting buttons on smooth fabric like I did, skip ahead to the next video. (Use dental floss.)

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Tufting - Great - Thread & Floss

I ordered this to make a homemade quilted headboard for my son's room. Excellent thread. Pull through the button covers and tie a knot at the end of the rope and secure the knots at the back of the bed. The buttons are still on and a month later they're buttoned tight. And my 17-year-old son rants enough that if it were worse, it would already be known.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Quality

Buyer Warning. Terrible product. Breaks. Returns are not permitted.

This is a terrible product. Dental floss and regular strength dental floss are stronger than this. It broke the first time, the second time, and the third time. It has no holding power or power. Runs terribly. It's sticky and waxy, making it difficult to cut with scissors. I can't return it even though it's only been a week. Buyer Warning.

Button Thread for Tufted Chairs

This was exactly what I needed but couldn't find anywhere else. In fact, the quality was better than the small amount of button thread I used. I bought yarn because I didn't have enough yarn to finish upholstering a pair of quilted chairs. The button thread I used wasn't waxed, but what I bought was waxed. The most useful was tying closed buttons on chairs.

Pros
  • Sewing
Cons
  • No Instructions

Ideal for soft buttons on my quilted headboard, project

This is a very strong thread that is waxed to be very easy to work with and will hold a knot like steel. I installed 19 3/4" soft buttons through a hard 2" foam core mounted on 3/4" plywood, pulled the buttons over the fabric and sewed into the foam core to a depth of 1" and knotted then thread the back of the plywood with staples and then tie the ends with knots. Waxed thread is easy to hold with fingers and tools and won't slip under staples or knots.

Pros
  • thread and thread
Cons
  • rosette required
