Works great with external accessories

Works great sir you begin to tug the wrapped wire a few times to start. I've noticed that when fully extended it puts too much stress on the machine.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Would I buy again

First purchase was to my liking and I'm glad it came with an extended cord. Releasing after applying voltage can be a two-handed job, it would be nice if there was a quick release. Completely satisfied and well made.

  • Few competitors

Looks good!: Winches

I have just unpacked and examined this item. Looks good, seems functional. I bought it because the old one I had seems to be gone. Bought because some of the logs I cut at the sawmill require manual labor and I'm a bit old to do it myself. So, one day I'll test it, but I'm impressed with the functionality.

Alert on this Emptor

This device does not come with instructions for use and I could not find any website that might provide an instruction manual. Connecting the straps and connecting the device was intuitive, disconnecting the device is definitely not intuitive! Very frustrating. The housing is also cheaply made and the device was stressed even without much pressure! I would not buy again.

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

Best to check before use is in External Accessories

When I first loaded this kit one of the nuts came loose from the bolt and the hook fell out of the assembly. I replaced the hardware with a longer bolt, lock washer and new nut and the product has worked great ever since. I had to get a wrench for all the screws beforehand and always make sure I inspect and tighten the hardware before using the adapter. The product works well and does what it is supposed to. I would have liked to see a bigger burr to release the cable release handle.

Not as described. on winches

After looking at a number of power pullers I settled on this one because it had a 13 foot cord, longer than most. As you might have guessed, what arrived had a 10-foot cord. Also, I believe Drixet is a brand name (Drixet is a company). What I have is "Cal-Hawk". This may explain the shorter cable than described. Finally, it's not clear what the seller means by "convenient reverse thumb control". There's a thumb-operated trigger, but it doesn't reverse in a controlled manner as far as I can…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some cons

Almost useless

I'm 6ft 2in, 250lbs, I'm in good shape. I can bench press 200 pounds and deadlift more. However, I have no way of unwinding the cable. First, you have to press two different small metal pins with both thumbs to even disable the mechanisms, and you have to keep your thumbs on it the whole time. Even then, when I step on a peg on the concrete floor, I have trouble pulling out the cord - it appears to be pinched. And that in a clean, dry garage in the best possible conditions when the car is new…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...
