Works well most of the time

Works well most of the time. I had an issue with the scanner not working properly when I plugged it into my computer every day. It could be an issue with the app using the scanner, but the only solution I've found is to disable and then enable the scanner. Also, the actual product, although Motorola technology, is branded as a symbol product; Product description and images must reflect this. Use of a Motorola-branded scanner image may be misleading.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Easy to read barcodes!

Bought 2 of these for our POS and they work great. Automatically wakes up when you move in front of the scanner and it reads barcodes very easily. Update 2/11/18: Well, they've been working great to date. Today one of the two character readers stopped working (on our second computer at the point of sale). We replaced the failed reader with our other computer (computer #1) just to make sure the reader was indeed at fault. Sure, plug reader #2 into computer #1 and it's dead. Plug reader #1 back…

Reliable, powerful and easy to use!

This is a top product. I ordered the product on Friday evening and definitely received it on Monday morning so I can assess the performance of the device. The scanner is very well built, lightweight and has many built-in features! I had a laptop nearby so I plugged it in and it automatically found the drivers. Next thing I did was open the notepad and scan a regular barcode, it worked straight away. So after I received the device after 2 minutes, it worked. very good! Now let's do a real test…

Ridiculously awful. and kind of amazing.

It works well and it works stably. I thought I would go insane or bang my face against the wall trying to install it. configure?" Yes, I do. I have several IT certifications (including MCSE. So shouldn't be that hard, right?), a computer science degree and an IT manager for a large company. could be a competent group its how Motorola put together such a terrible product (installation/software wise) and expects people to just use it?, updated the software a little (on the website at least) and…

Quick and easy to program

We've been using 2D barcodes in our shop for a while and I didn't expect much of a difference from these Motorola devices, but they've proven themselves. be a great surprise! After receiving them, I downloaded Motorola's PDF user guide and spent some time setting it up for our software. (For example, we pass data with <data><suffix> so our software can easily distinguish barcode data from a standard keyboard.) Once programmed, we installed them next to computers in front of the…
