Great, works for a few days

I've been on my third unit since November 2017. Ownership of the first unit came six months after tech support forced me to update it. The replacement device they supplied stopped charging over 50% after just a few months. Now the third device will not be visible to any apps even if the iPhone connects successfully. dual solution? Wait for the app to update. So hardware that used to work with multiple apps and no longer works with any is magically fixed with a single app update. I'm not holding

Another Bluetooth GPS with Windows and Android support as an afterthought

I bought 3 of these GPS devices but I will not buy more because it took forever to get updates on this device without an IOS device. Even the Android app for the device is not enough. After updating the GPS using the installer on Windows 10 first and then using the Android app (I couldn't update using the Android app at first as I think they had very old firmware), I was able to use GPS quickly find a good solution and GLONASS. Accuracy was within 5m compared to satellite image markers. I had…

Today I gave up and threw it away.

I finally gave up. So many times it has started reporting extremely inaccurate results, elevations hundreds of feet below sea level, locations hundreds of feet or sometimes even several kilometers, reporting that it only uses one satellite but the positioning quality is "excellent", various other results. This is often quite good, but too often it goes into bad behavior mode. The iOS app keeps crashing. The Bluetooth connection drops frequently. Tech support has sometimes helped me in the past…

6 STAR service on GPS, finders and accessories

Bought this XGPS160 in June 2014. In December 2017, after a 1-year warranty, it stopped catching satellites and the battery didn't last more than an hour on a charge. Please help from DUAL. They emailed a few solutions but it still didn't work. They forced me to return the device to them. They fixed the problem and even fitted a new battery for free even though I offered to pay for a new battery. This is 6 STAR customer service. In the meantime I have bought a Garmin GLO. It should have the…

Buyers beware: Very inaccurate: Garmin Glo update works better

So I mainly use this for tracking while walking. It seemed pretty accurate the first few times. My app reported I had covered a mile in roughly the same spot and within 21-25 minutes. So today I walked in a completely different state so I went completely offline and walked at a faster pace and my app reported I had walked a mile in 37 minutes. So pretty wild. As I walk I run two apps tracking and they both report the same distance so I don't think they are apps. I think it's a GPS device. This…

Ok good value for money GPS, finder and accessories

Decided to get one on KW after a double FMS failure in mid Pacific in class II airspace. The backup navigation failed on both FMS, leaving us with the Jeppesen map on our iPad EFB as the only navigation at this point. A crew member had a Bluetooth GPS receiver and we were able to use it until it was possible to recover the FMS near the target. The battery life of the XGPS160 was good enough and when it acquires satellites it works well. With the MD-11 I have to move it from one side of the…

Didn't live up to expectations at all!

The most frustrating problem is that they somehow managed to get a very high rating for this product! Over 4 stars under their Revain page. and these indeed unsatisfactory comments were buried deep within. But the actual user experience is almost terrible! In about 80% of the cases, he cannot establish a stable satellite connection either on board the plane or on the road. There aren't many buildings around and everything is separated in the distance. "I have traveled all over the world. On an…

For my purposes the Garmin GLO is better than the XGPS160

Garmin GLO is better than XGPS160 for my purposes:- When used with the Gaia GPS app for iPhone (iPhone 7) while driving in a car, XGPS160 track logs often have gaps of a few seconds with no location report. There were no such gaps in the GLO tracklogs. The XGPS160 never automatically connected to the iPhone 7's Bluetooth - I had to manually reconnect it each time. - GLO was significantly more accurate when the view of the southern sky was obscured by steep slopes or tall redwoods. This may be…
