Superb Sticky Vinyl Transfer Tape

I use this product as a sticky vinyl transfer tape. It offers excellent value for money compared to other products and seems to have the perfect stickiness - not too sticky but sticky enough to make it easy to apply. For applying to painted wood, I suggest taping it onto a shirt or other item to reduce the stickiness a bit and make sure you don't peel the paint off. After that, this product is great for all applications, wood, glass, etc.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Safety

Laminate is a bit thinner than I expected, but it looks nice when installed correctly. Because it's thin, it tends to curl and stick. If you trim the shape properly before placing it and only remove the backing when you flatten it (don't remove the whole backing at once, try to place it like a giant sticker) you can prevent a lot of bubbles and creases.

  • Don't waste too much time

Doesn't stick to wood

I bought this specifically for the wooden shelves in my linen closet. When I carefully trimmed it, I quickly found that it didn't stick to wood at all, which is shown in one of the examples on this page, and someone said it would (albeit varnished wood) in the Q&A. I tried wrapping it around the edges to allow it to stick to itself a bit but it still peeled off the wood and looked awful. This product page really needs to state in the pictures or in the description what materials it doesn't work

We used peel and stick to cover book covers. We have used the Contac grade in the past, but the Duck Peel and Stick grade had better mesh for cutting straight lines and was sharper than the Contac matte finish. It was also more forgiving and easier to use than Contac. Sticky enough to stick but can be repositioned very easily. The product we use has 5 stars BUT IT HAS CHANGED! We still like it better than Contac because it's clearer, but it's no longer easier to use. It's stickier and bubbles…

Suitable for book covers

I have used this to protect dustbound and soft cover books, particularly those that have been manufactured/shipped with poorly trimmed or slightly torn edges. It works well on books, sticky enough to hold after a hard press but not so sticky that it leaves glue behind or picks up parts of the book when you need to peel the film off due to air bubbles. You'll need to unroll a small section at a time and have a few items to hold the paper if you're doing it yourself. This is a "transparent matte"

Perfect for DIY Dry Erase Board

Perfect for DIY Whiteboard! I got the clarity so I can personalize it later with a prettier "back side" but I think you could just use plain white paper if you're really going to look like a whiteboard. between two laminate boards. Very easy to apply although it may take a few extra seconds to separate the laminate from the roll. I used an old show marker that was lying around and applied fairly neatly. But, perhaps more importantly, it rubbed off instantly like a whiteboard! No stains or…

Great for covering class library books!

**The bottom 2 books in the picture (Puss in Boots and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs) have been covered with transparent contact paper (this brand). The top 2 books in the picture (I'm Waiting for Mr. Panda and Extreme Earth) are not yet covered. I think it will be useful to compare! In my experience most clear contact paper is a bit hazy, but this brand is super clear! I like it! ** As an elementary school teacher, I have amassed a huge class library. When I was a new teacher someone

GREAT for book covers! See how below.

Sold as a shelf liner I've been using them for years to protect all the books in our house! Paperbacks are so easy to fool that whenever a new book comes out I quickly cover it before we start reading. 12" wide x 36' long CLEAR LAMINATE, PERFECT for this job. Here's how to do it: 1. Place the book on the laminate, fold the laminate in half across the top and cut along along the pre-marked lines.(The backing paper is marked in 1/4" increments from 1" to 12" that will repeat on the roll.) 2. Fold
