🔘 DuPont WFPFC8002 Carbon Wrap 2-Phase Cartridge, 2-Pack, Grey Review

I have an artesian well and bought these filters mainly for rust and odor. The rust got worse after the filter fouled my bath/shower and toilet, which was only a minor issue prior to using this filter. I clean my lamps every three days, not even a week. The printed material on the label of this filter does not show rust, but the Revain description does. I will continue to search for a filter that will solve all of our water problems, suggestions would be appreciated.

We are on well water. The only problem with our water is its iron content. This filter changed everything. After use, the outside of the filter was completely orange from the iron, while the inside was still bright white. For me, this was the best indicator of no iron leaking. Not sure yet how often I'll need to replace it assuming it depends on the different levels of iron they may have in their system. If it's once a month, it takes time and money to keep the iron away.

I tested my water before and after using these filters and they did not remove chlorine (totally or freely). I used BOTH filters in series (!) with the third as a pre-filter. The flow rate of the selected (filtered) water was only about 2.5 liters per minute and that with a back pressure valve. Before sampling, the water was thoroughly washed through filters. I usually buy these direct from Revain.com but they were out of stock. This time I bought it from a third party and immediately realized that the new filter cartridges didn't work. It lacks the plastic mesh surrounding the carbon film and has too much epoxy on the ends of the filter. I wasn't sure if DuPont had changed their production so I bought a cartridge from another location and got the filter cartridges as shown in the picture. I ordered this filter in early 2020 and it worked well so I used the 'reorder' feature this fall. When delivered in the fall a filter was sent with no screen around the main body but after I arranged a return Revain was quick to replace it with a screen filter. The only difference between the two versions was that the non-mesh filter was made in the USA while the mesh version was made in China. I don't know if that was a bug or an intentional design? Great filter. My water had no noticeable sediment, just a very bad taste. So I bought a 10 inch housing and this charcoal filter and it made the water drinkable right away. This filter is only for the fridge from which we get all our drinking water, so I'll report on the taste after it's been running for a few months.
