Description of DURATECH Universal Sink Strainer Wrench With Sliding Handle, Double End (1/2" & 3/8") - Basket Strainer Removal Tool

Double Ended Design: Double End Sizes are 1/2",3/8", and sliding handle diameter is 10mm,length is 15cm. Double-sided to fit most basket strainers. Easy To Use: First, beneath sink, remove drain tube attached to basket strainer. Then, Position basket strainer wrench underneath basket strainer body with matching end of wrench. At last, Hold basket strainer body in place and tighten lock nut with a sink strainer lock nut wrench. Durable Steel Construction: Durable steel body for long usage.The surface of the wrench is sandblasted and plated with blue and white zinc. With Sliding Handle: 6" Sliding T-handle offers multiple positions for the best leverage and most comfortable griplong enough handle for optimal torque. Application: Holds the kitchen sink basket strainer in place during its installation. A must have tool when replacing a sink drain and basket.

Good Tool, But Beware …

I was trying to install an Moen 22036 drain assembly. The "teeth” in this tool are too big to fit into the holes. I got one "tooth” to get in to hold the drainer while tightening the nut. I wanted to yell out 5 stars, but had to deduct one instead. It is a good tool, but not perfect.

It works well: my feedback

Why do I need this? Was getting ready to return this - then I happened to use it.This item holds a sink strainer in place while you tighten the nut on it. It eliminates the need for a second person to help you install the sink strainer easily.How often will I use this? Just a couple of times in your life will make it well worth the cost. It simply does what it's intended to do and works well.Downsides? Keep the box or you will find this sometime in the future and wonder what it is!

Holds it in place on my review.

Help’s hold the basket strainer in place while tightening the lock nut. Couldn’t ask for it to work out any better. Thanks for attention.

Get the longer 5” wrench with offset holes

This basket strainer wrench is fine for some basket strainers, but the centered holes for the crossbar can be a problem for deeper basket strainers (like the Moen 22036 basket strainer). That’s not a problem when accessing from below, but when accessing from above the distance from the holes for the crossbar are too close to the end. You’re better off purchasing one of the 5” long basket strainer wrenches with offset holes for the crossbar.
