Too much vacuum loss due to missing cup seal. There is no inner hem, so there is no easy way to add a seal. I don't think for the price it needs any modifications just to realize its full vacuuming potential.

I attached it to a bucket that rides on a four-wheel cart above the vacuum cleaner. I had to buy an extra and longer hose to make it work. I wanted the whole system to be mobile and take up less space in my carpentry shop. As a result, the dust collector works well.

This unit works as advertised. I am very impressed with how he separates the used abrasive and puts it in a bucket instead of a vacuum. The seller is excellent, the device came with damage. One call, the next on the way. No cost and save damaged. Will definitely deal with these people again. Dan

I got this so I don't have to lug my 16 gallon, 5 horsepower shop vacuum into the bin and keep the filter clean. Hoses directly connected to it are 2-1/2”. The suction is perfect and now I just empty the bucket. Make sure you build a little cart to keep it upright, since my vacuum has wheels I used to just grab it at will when cleaning the floor. Now I just cling to the transfer hose to move it around until I assemble a little cart for it.

This works better than expected after reading the reviews. Of course, it has limitations: it's not a premium dust collector, and it doesn't cost as much as one; but for the money it works very well. I am more than satisfied with the performance. I use it with my saw and the suction is still enough and I don't have to empty the vacuum anymore (well, maybe I do) - and it's a lot easier to empty a bucket that has a lot more sawdust in it. The dust collector is ready to use, just have your 5 gallon bucket ready. Hooked it up to a 6.5hp vacuum and it picked up everything off the floor and only the dust got into the filter in the vacuum. Everything else stayed in the bucket, as it should be. I am happy with this product and I think anyone who needs it should really look into it. What I particularly like is its low profile, which prevents it from tipping over if you accidentally tug on it. I will build a cart for a vacuum cleaner…

I wasn't sure but for the price I gave it a try. I connected it to my router and was very surprised with the results. The bucket seal was good and after routing the edges on 9 drawer faces I was surprised at how clean my routing table was. I have an old industrial vacuum and am sure it will get even cleaner with a newer vacuum with more suction power. The big test will come when I use my planer. Highly recommended for a small shop that doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a dust collection…

2nd update: I've uploaded a picture to show how well this works. This is my 5 gallon bucket full of pine shavings from my jointer and planer. I'm very satisfied with this product!
