My old computer had a dual link DVI connector and I was using the full 2560 x 1600 resolution of my 30 inch HP LP3065 monitor. My new computer only has an HDMI output but drives a full resolution 4K TV with no problem. I plug this adapter into the same HDMI cable and plug it into my monitor and I seem to get a single link as the resolution drops to 1280x800. Useless to me as I already had a single link adapter.

I was very optimistic that this adapter would work for my use. I'm trying to connect a laptop dock to a monitor. Unfortunately, the monitor does not have a DVI connection, but it does have a pair of HDMIs.
