Works well but don't expect miracles

These boxes dampen audio well but don't rely on them to keep surroundings quiet. The more general isolation you have the better the performance but if like me you still hear the speakers on the floor above. Before cutting a speaker hole in the ceiling, get as close to the midpoint between the joists as possible. . I used a Wi-Fi borescope camera to peer through a small hole into the void before cutting a hole for the main speaker. It also allows you to search for cables, pipes, etc. Now I think

Flexible high quality rubber lined speaker enclosure

If you're fitting in-ceiling speakers to an existing ceiling I don't know of a better product. Thick calibrated rubber with quality fit in the cover on all sides and top. I used them for 6.5" speakers, removed the rig, rolled up the box and inserted it into the hole that was cut out. Expand in space. It is very easy to work with, I thought I would have trouble with a very tight space filled with duck. But thanks to the flexibility of the boxes, I was able to maneuver on the spot and push the…

If you forgot to install speaker back boxes, this is the only option

This is the only option to install speaker back boxes in the ceiling (or wall I think) where the Drywall does not have to be opened. The thick rubber can be twisted and slid into the speaker hole and then adjusted to fill the space between the bars. I used them to upgrade the Atmos ceiling speakers in my home theater. I had to trim one a bit because it was leaning against the beam, but other than that I was lucky. The improvement in sound leakage to the upper floor was noticeable, but not…

They really work!

These boxes work! My previous home had 5 ceiling speakers and we could hear the sound clearly in the upstairs bedroom. I've moved to a new location and installed 5 of the same speakers in the ceiling but came across these rubber/foam boxes online and they made a world of difference. There is a noticeable reduction in noise levels in the upstairs room, although we have wood floors upstairs (i.e. very little insulation) and I was very concerned about sound transmission. It's not completely…

  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Modest noise reduction probably not worth the cost

I installed these boxes around some speakers in my basement ceiling hoping to reduce the amount of sound getting up to the first floor. above them. They seem to have helped a bit, but I'm not sure the difference these boxes made was worth the price. If you do decide to try them out, be aware that they are MUCH easier to place if you don't already have your computer speakers installed! If your speakers are already installed these boxes can still be installed, but this may require some finesse…

This is an amazing product. I built a cinema in my basement about two years ago and at the time I decided to go with 5.1 sound because the width wasn't big enough to put side surround speakers on the walls and I wasn't keen on the idea of doing that built-in speakers. on the side walls. I've since changed my mind and decided to upgrade to Atmos surround sound with ceiling speakers. The good news was that I knew every inch of what was hidden behind the dry stone wall in this theater. The bad…
