I hate crimping exhaust pipes. This is how normal exhaust clamps work. Disassembling this joint is a pain. These shell collars are just what you need. Bought a 2" clamp. Package says Tenneco Mega-Clamp, Made in USA. Clamp says Walker. Clamp length 3".

When my custom exhaust fell off (rotted) I decided to buy a ready made catback and install it myself. It turns out that the flange studs were spot welded after the cat converter (probably on individual work). So I had to cut the existing pipe. I then cut a flange off the new back of the cat and used this clip to connect the two sections of pipe. Went like clockwork! Very easy to install. No leaks. Ideal!

It was a bit small for a 2 inch clip so I don't know if it will close completely or not. And a black sticky substance sticks to it, which gets on the screws, making it very difficult to tighten and almost impossible to remove. Otherwise it's pretty good. I personally wanted to use it for a 2" pipe that is slightly bent. .

These clamps are great for holding car exhausts in place for days before welding them in the shop. I haven't used this type of clamp in over 2-3 weeks and I don't think it will hold up under a car with prolonged use, although it can. I use them to hold things together and only keep them still for short periods of time. I keep using them even though I don't use a liner. It took me some research to find a 2 inch band clamp. This is an amazing clamp! I've used several strains in the past with mixed results. This seals well, compresses well, is easy to use and even has a small dab of sealant on the inside to ensure the seam is tight. Long bolts ensure sufficient stretch and hold on the pipe.
