97 Toyota 4-Runner on brake pads

Bought these pads with GD7236 sport rims. They seem to be working great. The car stops softer and faster. See my review of the listed sport rotors for more information.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Compatibility

Soft and dirty in the braking system

I installed these pads on a 2004 Tacoma along with new rotors. Although they hold up well, they wear out and get dirty quickly. I've driven it less than 9000 miles and now my rotors are warped. Do yourself a favor and stick with Toyota factory pads.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Greenstuff leaves no black stuff

I had to clean polished wheels almost every two weeks as the best pads Oreilly had to offer were being cleaned of dust and dirt. It's been over three weeks since the Greenstuff pads were installed and the wheels cleaned and the black tint is barely noticeable. It's far better in that regard, not to mention stopping power, which improved greatly when I paired these pads with slotted EBC rotors.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Available in white only

They fit perfectly on my 1998 4Runner. I had .

Perfect match for my 1998 4Runner. I had a problem getting the right brake discs. So be sure to include your rim size when ordering discs, as 15" and 16" discs have different sized brake discs. I have a 1998 Toyota 4Runner with 16" factory rims. These pads fit no problem. Be sure to follow the instructions for "lapping in" or wearing brake pads.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Best value for money

Best value for money and best performance 4x4 brake pad is the third with these and 6992 on KZN130 and RZN185. I don't fade on the longest steep climbs (I also use cadence brakes) and overall I'm an energetic rider with plenty of track and race day experience. For a 4x4 on the road they are fantastic for 4runner/Hilux surfing. Also helps reduce the woodiness of the center (or left) Toyota pedal when paired with a good clean Dot4.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Normally a high quality product

We buy this brand for all our cars so got a set for a family member for Christmas. After about a week, the brakes started shaking and made a slight grinding noise when stopping. In all likelihood, the brakes were still trying to settle and might have been a little clingy. The problem went away after a few days and is now working fine. This is usually a high quality product with no installation issues. So normally I would give this product five stars. But sometimes even the best product has aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
