Toyota 4Runner - Brake System

Great brake discs for my 4Runner make braking much better when using green material brake pads. They are not as noisy as in other reviews.

Finally got around to installing these

My 2002 4Runner with 16" wheels. The quality of these rotors seems to be very good. Update 8/2017: With 30,000 miles and working factory pads these rotors have performed well. No deformation under all driving conditions. I'm happy.

97 Toyota 4-Runner: Brake System

So far so good, pads and rotors work great. I figured I'd have to buy a braking system for the Tundra to fix the bucking issues. I bought rims with matching pads for an SUV. The car stops much smoother and faster than before. There was also a brake noise warning with the new material, but I can't seem to hear it. Other rotors would have warped, but it's been a few months now and no problems.

  • Automotive

  • Wrinkled

Rotors as specified by the manufacturer

After installation, like many other buyers, I noticed vibrations when braking. EBS Brakes addresses this on their website, claiming that it takes about 1,000 miles to break in and that many cars have hubs, which is not true. The proposed solution is to mount the rotors onto the hubs on a lathe. Well after a 1000 mile break in the time I took the wheels off and clamped the dial gauge to measure the run out it was a little over 10km either side, way out of tolerance. To make sure my hubs were bad

Pros
  • Braking system
Cons
  • No power
