1000 beads fit in the palm of your hand.

MUCH smaller than expected. As you can see they are much smaller than even the smallest pearl in the photos in the description. Don't expect to be able to use them for anything unless you plan on soaking them in water. I thought they would be a good filler for some of the clear acrylic containers I plan to put food in, but they are too small.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Something different

Perfect sparkling perfection!

I use them as water props to wrap around emerging plant roots. They do really well and help small plants stay upright in the water. However, I will say that they dissolve in peroxide (useful for mold prevention). So if you use them in the water they are in, be careful. They hold water very well! Exactly as described. I put a teaspoon of these in a bowl of water and they expand quickly! Excellent value for money and quality. It may seem like you only got a tiny amount when drying, but I can…

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best

There is a trick

Soak these water beads DAYS to complete the project. I needed these beads for a Saturday party so on Wednesday I soaked the water beads and poured a very small amount into the water to soak them. This pack will take a long time because I used very few beads and it helped make the center pieces out of 4 cylinders.

Pros
  • Widely used: Can be used as a water substitute in vases or simply as a decorative item, also good for weddings, party decorations
Cons
  • thin

Underestimated these guys!

Oh my god I underestimated how big they were going to get! They first appeared in a tiny, plain zip-lock packaging that had absolutely nothing on it, no instructions, no. Okay how difficult can it be? Just add water, right? Well, 1/4 of the tiny bag soaked up almost two gallons! They look great in my favorite office vase, but when I put the cut flowers in, they don't really seem to lose the water that the flowers would absorb. So I had to add water and it looked a bit silly but still good.

Pros
  • Water Crystals: Designed to absorb and retain water, with good water absorption, it gradually grows in water; Note: keep them out of direct sunlight
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Houseplant Magic

I travel a lot for work and hate it when someone comes to water my plants while I'm away. Enter these little magic pills. I used about a pint of this per gallon can. I mixed them into the soil as close to the roots as possible, replacing the topsoil. They are relatively small compared to others, making them easier to mix into the soil when fully wet. I'm sure there's a real green thumb out there saying this is a terrible idea, but I've been gone for almost two weeks and even my orchid is alive!

Pros
  • Scope of delivery: Approx. 10000 pieces of water crystals in one pack; approximate weight 50g per pack; Colour: transparent
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
