Save yourself the hassle and only buy factory OEM units

After 100,000 miles and 15 years I have decided to replace the original ignition coils in my car with a set of these knock offs. BIG MISTAKE! These newer devices from other manufacturers failed after just 2,000 miles. The system was scanned after the idle became rough and the check engine light came on. They were suspected of being new fake coils and indeed they were. Newly installed original OEM units from the factory. - The problem went away immediately.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Only available in black

Failed in two years and not many miles

So far so good, after replacing the original coils after about 260,000 miles it is behaving well. let's see how long this goes on. I'm usually skeptical about unfamiliar products, but so far they haven't given me any problems. Update: November 2018 I had a misfire and the car stalled on a downhill road. About 6 months the car shook more than usual. Swapped them out for Specter coils and the car is ringing like a kitten after 290,000 miles.

  • Constant test results

One of the eight ignition coils has failed.

One of the four ignition coils failed after 10 km. So, MORE headaches with my wife's car, this time during a CRAZY heatwave where the temp was 110F (can you say drenched in sweat?), and MORE bill from the mechanic. Yes, my first pack of 4 ECCPP coils worked great a few years ago BUT if 1 out of 8 fails and you don't like paying for auto repairs I'd say it's not worth the lower price. Next time we will put up with it and pay for quality parts.

Inexpensive but works with 2002 Corolla

Fits my 2002 Corolla and works perfectly. At first I thought it wasn't good enough because after misfiring the P304 I got the P171. I have decided to replace the BOSCH O2 sensor which I just replaced along with this one. Instead, I bought and installed a DENSO )2 sensor. I cleared the code and did a drive cycle on the Corolla and WHAM, everything is fine and I just passed the SMOG test. This is a good and inexpensive replacement for the ignition coil. Hopefully we'll see how it performs in the…

Product failed within a week

Bought to replace broken and old ignition coils in my 2002 Celica - Product was as described and fit the car. However, one of the coils failed within a week. Occasional issues with more mechanically inclined friends until I got fed up and took it to the shop for a full diagnosis. After replacing some other parts that could have caused the same symptoms, the shop determined that the faulty coil was causing my misfire problems. The time that elapsed between shipping various parts, working on the…

Good for $10 each.

Vehicle: 2001 Toyota Corolla with 139,000 miles. Problem: Rough idling, low consumption and stumbling when starting. My mechanic pulled out a code that indicated cylinder #3 was misfiring and needed a new coil. My local parts store wanted $60 for a one year warranty part and $75 for a lifetime warranty part. When I came across them I was quite skeptical. Only twenty reviews and not all are excellent. Since I had a bad coil on cylinder #1 two years ago ($120 at the store) I decided to pull the…
