Bad sensor - 2006 Altima

This was terrible for my 2006 Nissan Altima. I had the exhaust manifold replaced and installed it. My gas mileage was terrible and the check engine light came on shortly after. Started replacing the top sensor, didn't help. I finally replaced this one with another floor sensor and all my problems were solved. Do not buy this sensor

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Empty

B1S2 5th generation Maxima

Ordered for 03 Maxima. Fits perfectly with the B1S2. Ideal cable length (26 inches). Had to cut open the old O2 sensor to pinch it off with an impact wrench. I also ordered copper anti-seize material and will use it from now on. After gutting 1 precat (the ceramic one) can do an antifouling trick and all is well. For those complaining about gutting pre-cats, take care of it. It controls the smog in the first 5 minutes it takes the car to get up to temperature for the main cat to start working…

  • beautiful thing

  • So-so

As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I bought this because I had 160,000 miles and code P420 came up. I ended up having to buy a Bosch Wideband and in the end I found that this sensor was not stable. I kept getting a shift efficiency code in Bank 1. I kept failing the driving test and received code P2A00. Lean to Rich and Rich to Lean threshold codes. I ended up replacing that sensor with the OEM sensor I replaced and guess what emissions the car had. This sensor is not the best choice for 2006 Nissan Altima. I think you need to…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Good but not great
