No ambient temperature sensor

mirrors fit perfectly. A year went by and I thought my truck had a bad ambient temperature sensor. I bought a new one only to find it was in the passenger mirror. How can I fix it now? I don't like it at all.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BUY!

Most of these items cost a fraction of what you would pay at a retailer as they DO NOT HAVE MOST OF THE FEATURES OF THE ORIGINAL HARDWARE. There's no motor controls for telescoping and folding, and no temperature gauge to read the temp on the dash (yes, that's where it is).

Cons
  • Some bugs

Wouldn't buy again.

I like mirrors but I have a problem with them: there is power to adjust the mirrors and they get hot but that's not true. My truck was at the auto repair shop. So I ordered mirrors to save money and started blacking them out. But when I got the truck back they were manual and the heated mirrors didn't work either. So I'm a little disappointed to say the least because now I have to order something else so I don't have to get in and out of the truck a few times to put the mirrors on.

Don't buy that crap

It's all a hoax and a hoax. did they come Of course. But what they don't tell you, except that they don't mechanically extend and fold like the originals, and the outside temperature sensor is configured in the originals. Therefore it does not read the outside temperature. In addition, Ford installed it in the truck's air conditioning system to measure the internal temperature. So it was -40 degrees outside, so my air conditioning compressor in the truck wouldn't turn on. I figured there was…

Triggers 'Check Engine' light due to missing ambient temp sensor

Decent quality product and bolted together well. BUT. They are listed as for 2011 f350 and up, but on those years the ambient air temperature sensor is in the front mirror and they are not. The workaround is to remove the sensor from your old mirror, disassemble that mirror and remove the wiring harness, then remove the two ambient temperature sensor pins and connect that mirror to that sensor. Once you make that sensor in the door away from the mirror. Otherwise always have a cel for the…

OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE SENSOR PROBLEM SOLVED

Firstly I like mirrors and I won't complain too much because they are cheap compared to full XLT original mirrors. So I don't have an exit/entry or return, but that's ok. On 2011 and later models, the outside temperature sensor is located on a panel under the passenger side mirror. The new mirrors don't have a sensor, but the wiring harness does. I just unplugged mine and although the harness connector looks different, it connects. The new mirror cap is a different size, but don't worry, just…

Great OEM replacement.

These mirrors were purchased to replace original mirrors on a 2016 F250 that were damaged during the winter plowing season. They fit perfectly. However, it is known that all other after-sales mirrors have a problem that there is no temperature sensor in the passenger mirror. A fairly simple solution. The hardest part was removing the sensor from the old mirror. Newer mirrors actually have a plate that can be pulled out and inserted into the sensor. I just removed the sensor completely from the…
