Wired 2 together best in my review

I just installed 2 of these for the same light in my hallway. My home was built in 1966, so it wasn't a simple switch swap for me. However, once I had new wiring all pulled in, it couldn't have been easier. I read a handful of reviews stating the instructions aren't clear. Ehh, if you aren't familiar with electrical work, I could see that. The motion sensitivity on the switch is touchy. I ended up putting one switch to vacancy and the other the occupancy. If you could blackout part of the motion

Pros
  • Time on, sensitivity, all adjustable through front panel
Cons
  • Requires a neutral wire, making installation more difficult

A great solution for lights in a stairwell

I purchased two Ecoeler motion control switches for a stairwell that leads down to our garage/basement. In our case, the staircase has a landing halfway down. Following the instructions, I was got the new switches working and they seem to work great. Motion at either the top or bottom of the stairs triggers the lights to go on for an adjustable amount of time. One thing I wish these switches enabled was an override that leaves the light on until manually turned off: most of the time, we want…

Pros
  • ✔3-WAY SWITCH: This motion sensor occupancy switch is a 3-way switch allowing the lights to turn on from multiple switch locations in the room.
Cons
  • May not work well in homes with multiple floors or large square footage

Not what i expected - updated

Just received this 3-way switch and read the instructions. I have no intention of installing it. It might work just fine in a straight hallway or something, but if you enter from the other end and blind to the switch, you're out of luck. And I'm not buying a second motion switch. It may be good, just not what I expected (and was curious how it would work.)UPDATE:It was a bit of a puzzle, but it is working great. I was able to switch wires around to accommodate the one motion switch and existing…

Cons
  • Requires electricity to operate, so not a good option for power outages

Can't think of a single flow.

For my installation inside a washer/dryer closet this sensor switch is simply perfect. Very easy to setup and install, perfect motion detection, simple on/off button when necessary. Looks good as well. I can't imagine how it could be any better. Has been in use for a couple of months now.

Pros
  • ✔The motion sensor covers 180°, so all motion is detected. Light switch sensor features adjustable settings. Automatic ON /OFF and Manual ON/Automatic OFF operation, Adjustable time delay from 15sec-1min-5mins-15mins-30mins, Adjustable sensitivity, Adjustable Light level sensing.
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other types of switches

Good for the price best in my review

It works as intended and a lot cheaper than the name brand switches. However, this is not a casual diy, if you do not understand how your current 3 way switch works then don't bother trying to hook this up yourself. This is not a simple remove the wires from your current switch and connect to this switch. You will need to combine some wires which makes it important that you know which wire runs to your lights and which are the runner wires between the main switch and the auxiliary switch. If…

Pros
  • Aesthetic appeal, with a sleek, modern design
Cons
  • May not work well in rooms with a lot of shadows or corners

Works Great After Getting the Wiring Right!

Perfect for my stairways! Because my wires were all different colors and I was pretty inexperienced with electrical circuits, it took me a lot longer than I expected to install them. Finally got the right combination though and they work great. I didn't have a white neutral (only white traveler) so I had to tie the switch neutral wire into my ground wire to get them to work. They're not smart switches, but don't need them to be since they will always shut off by themselves.

Pros
  • Convenient and practical, freeing up your hands to carry items or open doors
Cons
  • Some users may find the switch too noisy when it turns on and off

Works great for my use-case

As the documentation states if you are going to install this with a standard 3-way switch - the motion switch has to be on the load side. The wiring can be confusing - its not wired like a standard 3 way is, so READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. If you do - it works great. I have 3 of these - one in a 3way with standard 3 way switch and another with two of them together. Both work great!

Pros
  • Can be used with a range of light bulbs, including LED, CFL, and incandescent
Cons
  • May not work well in rooms with a lot of natural light

Not great instructions but great product

The instructions made it look like you had to have another light switch to connect to this one. But luckily we figured out how to wire it without the instructions.

Pros
  • Increases the lifespan of light bulbs by eliminating unnecessary usage hours
Cons
  • Some users report issues with the motion sensor not detecting movement consistently

Works very well, but be careful with installation.

I bought this to replace one of a pair of standard 3-way switches controlling a laundry room light. Just be aware that the wiring on the remaining switch needs to be changed to support this switch. Pay close attention to the wiring diagram packed with this switch. It said to move the black "line" wire to the same terminal as the black traveler and then connect the common terminal to ground. I did move the "line" wire, but did not connect the common terminal to ground, and it works fine…

Pros
  • Energy-efficient, reducing electricity costs and lowering carbon footprint
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for rooms with pets, as their movements can trigger the sensor

Motion Sensing Light Switch

Was easy hookup and works exactly as it is supposed to. May not work well in very small spaces. Is adjustable for light sensitivity and timer duration.

Pros
  • This is a great product. Installed easily and works great.
Cons
  • May not work well in very small spaces

Instructions are great. yet better if yr handy

the motion detect is great, and can be set to stay on for various amount of time. the instructions are great but it helps to be handy so u can work thru them. they are also sensetive to changes in light.I have one that is in a spot where light from my frig hits it and when it does it triggers the motion detect. not a big deal. I have 2 that work with eachother as a primary and secondary 3 way switch .instructions explain how to wire it . again read it carefully.

Pros
  • Easy to install, with clear instructions and all necessary hardware included
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all types of electrical systems

DOES NOT WORK IN ALL 3-WAY CIRCUITS

Once I discovered the email address for customer support (info@ecoeler.com) the support team was very kind, responsive and helpful. But in the end, it was determined by their engineers that the motion-sensor switch does not operate in all 3-way circuits. In particular, it does not work in the 3-way circuit with load between the switches, as depicted in one of the attached drawings. It might work in a "typical" 3-way circuit with load at the end of the circuit, as depicted in the other attached…

Pros
  • Switches & Dimmers
Cons
  • May not work well in areas with a lot of movement or activity

Wiring can be tricky

I got this to replace one switch in a 3-way setup (2 wall switches control one light). It took me a bit, but finally got the wiring correct. The biggest thing I kept missing is that the 2nd regular switch has to be required as well. In all fairness, it does state this in the manual. Once I placed the red wire onto the black screw (on old switch), all was good and it works great

Pros
  • Helps reduce carbon emissions and environmental pollution, contributing to global sustainability efforts
Cons
  • May not work well in areas with extreme temperatures, such as garages or attics

instructions a little confusing but good value nonetheless

If you understand how to wire a 3way switch, you should be able to wire this.A note of caution: when using it with a second switch, the second switch is not a 3way switch but a regular 2 poles switch.Instructions claim to wire only the two travelers and leave the common unconnected. It cannot work as the travelers will never be connected with each other as it's either traveler connected to the common. so the black and blue wires go to a regular switch or to the common and one of the travellers.

Pros
  • Features UL listing and FCC approval, ensuring compliant, safe operation
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for rooms with large windows or glass doors
