Rigid Container: Cookware

I use this to keep some salt and pepper mixture on the counter to quickly add flavor to my dishes. This is the perfect size. Deducted 1 star because the top handle is a little loose, but that doesn't stop it from serving its purpose.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Surface
Cons
  • Crumpled Pack

Cooks food better

My very first cast iron! What a delicious experience. My first dish was filet mignon and he cooked it to perfection. I just need to learn how to play with the temperature and how it works in the oven. I also didn't know it was maintained, so it's another learning curve for me.

Pros
  • Impressive

just the size i was looking for

4 inch cast iron dutch oven perfect for what i am looking for. I wanted to use it on my grill to heat flavored oil for searing steaks, grill grates for various types of chicken, etc. I didn't want it to be too big to take up space on the grill, but it was small and thick enough. to withstand high temperatures. perfect product!

Check for possible cracks/defects before use.

I really liked this pan until it exploded. First time owning cast iron. I think there was a small crack and water got in during the last cleaning. She only stood on the stove for a few minutes, after which she "clapped" loudly and broke the pan into two large pieces. No one was hurt but it scared the shit out of me.

  • Hands Free

I love to cook in a cast iron skillet

I love to cook in a cast iron skillet. It reminds me of my grandmother who used to bake cornbread in it. And she told me that cooking in a cast iron skillet is what cast iron was made for and she wouldn't cook in anything else. I remembered that they were almost all sizes. She let me boil the egg in the smallest because it always came out perfect. It was made to boil an egg. So yes, I love my pans!

exactly what i was looking for

previous review is correct. It's a tiny Dutch oven, about the size of a toy, but if you're looking for a cheap mini cocotte maker, this is it. I refuse to pay over $30 for 1 cocotte maker just because of the brand name. It's heavy cast iron (I weighed 2.2 pounds). It's not enameled, but I prefer it to the enameled cast iron. It measures 4 inches in diameter not counting the handles. It's about 2.8 inches deep not including the lid. I plan to buy more in the future to make a full 4 piece set. I…

Beautiful surface, easy to clean, food does not stick. Yes!

I love to cook but I've always been afraid of cast iron. I've tried cast iron cookware before and it quickly became a rusting mess. Then I had the honor of reading a book about cast iron cookware. I learned how to treat it properly and now I have no more problems. It's very easy to do. You just have to overcome your fear of them. There are many cast iron seasoning videos on YouTube. Check them out before you reach for the soapy sponge and clean the pan! Now that I know how to do this, not only…
