I use this to keep some salt and pepper mixture on the counter to quickly add flavor to my dishes. This is the perfect size. Deducted 1 star because the top handle is a little loose, but that doesn't stop it from serving its purpose.

My very first cast iron! What a delicious experience. My first dish was filet mignon and he cooked it to perfection. I just need to learn how to play with the temperature and how it works in the oven. I also didn't know it was maintained, so it's another learning curve for me.

I really liked this pan until it exploded. First time owning cast iron. I think there was a small crack and water got in during the last cleaning. I love to cook in a cast iron skillet. It reminds me of my grandmother who used to bake cornbread in it. I refuse to pay over $30 for 1 cocotte maker just because of the brand name. It's heavy cast iron (I weighed 2.2 pounds). It's not enameled, but I prefer it to the enameled cast iron.
