In the end they just replaced the stand but I gave it to a friend who used it. The kit claimed was of good quality and very complete.

He was very happy with the product. The kit included all the gaskets and o-rings to properly seal this rack. I saved from a $20 gasket kit for a $400 kit. I recommend if your gear is leaking this is by far your best bet.

Doesn't fit my '97 Pontiac GTP with Magnasteer. It's possible my car was produced earlier this year and used an old '96 model year steering rack. So be careful when ordering. I'll try the 8785 kit to see if it fits. Update, none of the kits had matching gaskets. It turned out that the seals I needed were in the Edelmann 8920 kit. After three kits the car ran again. What a shitty shoot.

Kit Part kit for the GM Magna-Steer rack and pinion. There is no special GM oil seal that seals the end of the rack to the housing on the pressure side. Looked everywhere for the part number on the seal and found it's not available to anyone but GM or authorized rebuilders. Don't waste your time with this sealing kit, I would like my money back but I had half the rack sealed completely only to find out I couldn't finish the job due to an incomplete kit.
