USB doesn't communicate with anything else. The CD player does not play CDs or MP3s. I have it for the workshop so I can listen to the radio and I have to maneuver all sorts of wires and things to get it actually picking up the signal. The bass button does nothing. I ordered this to replace an old boom box I had in the workshop. I've noticed it says "NoUSB" all the time. although a USB stick is connected. The problem was that it takes 5-10 seconds to read the disc and then the menu comes up. My old boombox had a remote control which came in handy when placed on the top shelf.
