Good relay output board with few features

Pros: Easy assembly, works without modifications, good use of LEDs for power and operation indication. Torque limiter - using a suitable screwdriver, I ripped off a mounting screw just to remove it. Using mounting screws makes it difficult to find housing for the RPi and relay board. All in all a very good board for the price and I would buy it again.

Absolutely better than connecting separate relays

I had a set of three relays which I connected to the PI one at a time, but the relay's signal wires can be disconnected or unsoldered and some equipment I never would have stayed must. I ended up having to write scripts that would turn off the relay, then physically check it to make sure it was off, then turn on an alarm if it sucked, etc. That completely changed the game for me haha. The pins fit right into the Pi's pins, so I don't have to worry about losing connections, and since the relays…

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Was damaged

I'm an Arduino user and have a few Rasp Pis and other things like OpenSprinkler, but I wanted to start making an attic fan controller project and experiment with it. I'm dabbling with python and other stuff and have only had a few hours playing with it since it just came out, but I've used the demos and code that comes with the Waveshare product. Being new to RasPi/Linux it still took a few hours (and that damn GoT ending got in the way!) but I was able to run all the code samples, on/off tests

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Legacy
