Mixing Instructions

DO NOT follow package directions. You get lumps. Instead, fill the container with 12 cups of very cold water. (I used my own 8 liter kettle) Add the powder and stir with a whisk. Add the powder and keep beating until the bag is empty. This takes about 10 minutes. Add 4 more glasses of water. Whisk together for two minutes. Let sit for 15 minutes as instructed and whisk again. Pour into an airtight container. Now that I have the science of blending I won't use anything else. I love this product.

Delicious Stuff - Large Volume

Wonderful stuff - this tiny box makes about 4 liters of clear gel glue! I didn't quite understand how annoying that was. I used it in a paper mache recipe and love the creamy texture it gives. I've used this on my paper boat to great effect. I also used "paste" (it's more like gel glue) for strip mache. I batch processed it in a blender designed for crafting (mainly papermaking). I read it was methyl cellulose, so I treated it that way too - I added a slow trickle of a portion of dry powderโ€ฆ

The best glue for paper mache!

The most satisfactory product, delivered promptly. A word of caution to art teachers though - the instructions I've found are deceiving! The powder takes much longer to dissolve than the instructions suggest. I used a 4 liter glass bottle to mix the glue. Fill the bottle about 2/3 full with water and then add about 2/3 of the contents of the box. Shake vigorously for 3-4 minutes or more! Wait a day or two or more until the solution is clear and not too clumpy. Then add the remaining water andโ€ฆ
