On the east coast we have bigger and stronger storms or what I call home plate hurricanes all the time. Having or not having a weather radio with a built-in solar panel and a crank phone charger isn't a problem, and that's a good thing, because life in the wake of hurricanes seems mindless. In any case, power outages are common and it's good to have weather information on hand. I would buy this again.

So small compared to what I thought (maybe the size of two computer mice face to face), the flashlight isn't as bright as it can be if it wasn't for something this feature rich and low power, self sufficient and able to charge your phone, great buy! Wanted to get radio to listen to NPR, currently listen to RTJ from local college radio. I am very happy that I can run it manually and get solar power for it.

I bought this baby just before the terrible weather came. Luckily I saved the electricity and didn't have to use it but I am totally blown away by the quality of this radio for the money I paid. It's actually solid and has a compartment on the bottom so you can remove the battery and solder on a spare when the time comes. This little radio is the most practical in the world. I wanted a radio that I could rely on in bad weather, power outages and, as the saying goes, STF. I wanted one that offered all three radio bands and this one has them. The AM stations didn't fare well which was a bit disappointing but I hope I don't have to rely on them alone.
