🔧 6 Inch Magnetic Torpedo by Empire Level Review

Well built level. The best reason to buy this spirit level is the powerful magnets. If you're like me, I'm repelling my level of things all the time, and the power of these magnets has definitely reduced that.

Empire's 8.5-inch aluminum torpedo scale is the standard in heavy commercial construction. One of the most common tiers of this type of torpedo, their ubiquitous presence in the field is a direct result of superior strength and accuracy. Empire has a number of excellent professional-level tools, and that level is unacceptable.

One of the magnets fell out after a few months of use. I was trying to find an alternative to the checkpoint level that I liked so much. (Dropped in the mine) The Empire may be similar, but the quality is definitely not on Checkpoint's level.

I like this new level. It's solid for one. The other level I had was also an empire but a bigger type that I really liked. This has 3 neodymium magnets that hold in place when leveling the tube or rack. it is also well made and accurate. The slimmer profile makes it easy to fit in my tool bag, and the magnets are great for picking up metal shavings or temporarily magnetizing other tools like screwdrivers and the like. Other cheaper magnets have a magnetic plasticized strip that doesn't hold up…
