Not sure if it will be useful. The sensors are very short. So when you try to measure the moisture you only get the top of the wood which is usually the driest. I put it in a tree that I know has a high moisture content and it reads zero so I'm not sure if it's worth buying.

Really at the price with this meter it's difficult to compare anything. Try to find another in this price range that measures up to 99.9%. I've tested it on oak, maple, ash, and birch and all seem to read well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality meter. a minus. In the description and photo it says it comes with a protective case but I don't have one and the box says it comes with the counter and instructions.

As a moisture meter it's pretty accurate. But it doesn't come with a battery or interchangeable contacts. But the real reason for the single star is the completely fraudulent product description, which says the meter offers "calibration for about 50 species of wood."
