🔍 EPAuto GP050 (CA12050) Rigid Panel Air Filter - Enhanced Replacement for Honda Civic 1.5L (2016-2019) and CR-V 1.5L (2017-2019) Review

Very easy to do with a long shank Phillips screwdriver or long extension head and ratchet. Honda designed the cover so that even if the screws are loosened, they still remain attached to the cover.

Caught right in our CRV. It lasted a few minutes. The dealer said the filter was dirty and charged $70 for a replacement. You have to take it out to see it's dirty, so why charge $70 to put a new one in? Anyway, this one fits perfectly.

Filter fits my 1.5 liter turbo 18 Civic perfectly and seems to be of good quality! My filter was about to be replaced and I noticed that the performance dropped as did the fuel economy. After installing this filter everything went back! Very easy to change but use a 5/16" socket and an extension to make it easier than trying a Phillips head screwdriver. Just be careful not to over-tighten them when you put them back in! 5 Stars! I will definitely buy again!

This is a great replacement air filter that costs many times less than the same filter at the dealer marked 'HONDA'! Seems some people haven't read the descriptions or don't know their engine type - make sure yours is the 1.5 liter turbo engine found in some 10th gen Civics and CR- Vs the 5th generation is found. If you are still unsure, take 60 seconds to open the case with an 8mm socket (captive screws) and check the filter size/shape yourself.

This filter is a replacement for Honda Genuine Part 17220-5AA-A00. I was concerned as it was the cheapest filter that could pose a problem but this is a well made product that fits my 2019 CR-V perfectly. This filter came with no instructions but I was able to get a short YouTube video showing how to do it. A screwdriver (I used a wrench instead, but either will work) and got the job done in less than five minutes. Even if you don't consider yourself mechanical, you can do it. Honda has designed the filter holder in such a way that no parts can fall out. There is a small tab on the filter, if you look at it from the front you can't go wrong. Easy and perfect fit for my mother's 2017 Honda CR-V 1.5 turbo 'Earth Dreams' engine. Simple: With the long Reed & Prince/Frearson (as opposed to the Phillips, which has a blunter point) simply loosen the screw at each of the four corners. Lift the top of the case, remove the old element and replace it. With the new one it will be easy to see how it fits properly. Lower the top of the case, re-tighten the 4 screws and you've just saved a ton of money compared to what the dealer is charging you.
