FITS IN THE CABIN LIKE A GLOVE Air Cleaner

I bought my 2004 HONDA Civic Si about two years ago and one day it had some odd little things inside. So I decided to change the cabin filter. I searched the internet and came across this one. I don't need a fancy one, just need to replace it with a new one. Check out a YouTube video on how to access my car's cabin air filter and I had it replaced in no time. It's been about 1.5 years and the smell still hasn't come back to haunt me. So I think this product really works!

  • Great Price
Cons

Ideal for 2006 Honda Element

This product contains 2 filters and is an OEM accessory for my 2006 Honda Element. They work great and are better than the original as they contain activated charcoal which helps reduce outside odors as well as filtering out particles in the air. Much cheaper than buying them from a thief or your local auto parts store. So I got a second set of filters and they worked great. I would recommend changing them every 6-12 months to ensure a good flow of clean air. You'll be surprised how dirty theyโ€ฆ

OK let's see.

Carbon technology seems to improve air quality, although there are some caveats about the product: the cardboard perimeter is thinner than my previous (OEM?) filters, which can be an issue during installation, and an inner filter less densely packed than my previous filters, ie more space between the ribs. This manufacturer seems to skimp on building materials and filter paper area, which doesn't give me 5 star satisfaction. Right in the middle for now. Let's see if I have to replace theseโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for my 2005 Honda Civic VP

Product as advertised. Fits my car perfectly. The instructions on how to get through the glove box are not very clear. Although I've seen it done on YouTube. On my Civic, the stops on the right and left of the glove box snap into place on the glove box. Must be pushed into the glove compartment from the outside. They also snap back when they're done. The filter compartment door snaps into place on the left. Click on the locking lever to release it and you can swing it to the right. There areโ€ฆ

Cheap. And yes, cheap.

Definitely cheap. Obviously high user ratings. Each of these EPAuto cabin filters has around 28 pleats throughout compared to Honda OEM filters which have around 44 pleats, so this EPAuto filter offers just under 2/3 the filtration compared to Honda OEM filters. On the other hand, the same seems to apply to almost all other non-Honda filters - even the Bosch filter for example, as I was surprised and disappointed with the Honda OEM filter spring. And of that pair of filters they sent me, oneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Beware of buying and installing

This filter seems reasonable but it took more youtube research to make it suitable. The Car Compatibility Guide was too extensive in the list of car models that the filter fits. The instructions in 4 pictures on the box were also insufficient. However, the video I found on Youtube for my 2005 Honda Accord was close to perfect. A possibly greater ambiguity was how to release the latch holding the glove box forward. Another thing was that the two half plates of the filter didn't fit in the filter
