PRO LEVEL COMFORT: The SM Pro is the choice of MTB Marathon World Champion Alban Lakata and the perfect saddle for the longest, roughest rides. AIR CELL TECHNOLOGY: Innovative orthopedic AirCell foam padding is very lightweight yet delivers incredible comfort and support with maximum damping and pressure distribution. ORTHO CELL TECHNOLOGY: Innovative OrthoCell inlays are ergonomically positioned in the sit bone contact area to deliver increased comfort, better pressure distribution, more durability and lighter overall weight than gel pads. MEN’S SPECIFIC RELIEF CHANNEL: The rearward positioned comfort relief channel is specifically designed for Men to eliminate pressure, numbness and pain in the perineum and genital areas. WARRANTY: Limited 2-Year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Didn't fit me

Have run about 300 miles with this saddle in the last 30 days of receipt. It is mainly used for mountain biking. I had high hopes for the declared comfort, based on reviews and advertising propaganda from the manufacturer. However, none of this applied to me. This is the most painful bike saddle I have ever ridden. I was hoping for a comfortable ride, but it's not. This saddle makes me stop riding after about 90 minutes. Anything over 90 minutes is total pain. I'm looking for the best solution.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Having problems

Very comfortable and smooth for technical riding, but squeaks

I want to love this saddle but the constant noise is frustrating. The rails creak when installed in the RockShox Reverb seat post. I torqued the caliper correctly to spec with a torque wrench, but it still squeaks all the time. The next step is installation with carbon assembly paste (basically an abrasive lube) which will usually alleviate squeaky calipers, but this is not necessary. EDIT: After installing with carbon assembly paste, the squeak has greatly improved, but there is still some…

Pros
  • All good!
Cons

Saddle Ulcers Suck! But not with this saddle.

I've done a few thousand miles on their SMC4 saddle and have decided to swap it out for this one. Once I got the saddle angle in the right position, I adopted it. 44 miles of chic and beautiful JoComo gravel. This saddle flatters your sit bones and smoothes out the roughest gravel roads. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. My only complaint is that I can't find the blue version anywhere in the world. LoL Do it, you know you want to buy that little slice of heaven for your sit bones

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not bad

A little heavier than expected and the listed weight is far from up to date.

I have more hours to spend in the SM Pro before I really think about comfort but my biggest concern is the advertised weight is so much lower. Ergon claims the S/M SM Pro weighs 235g, and it weighs 261g. By and large it doesn't matter, but it's outside of the scale's calibration tolerances. I was happy to get a saddle that was lighter and more comfortable than the one I was replacing (253g) but only had an improvement in comfort (although that's more important to me).

Durability and manufacturer's warranty leave a lot to be desired.

So far this saddle is amazing. I've been riding Specialized Power saddles for years and it blew the doors off. I'm a confident trail rider and this is perfect for me. Comfortable and stable on the descents and long enough to comfortably use the horn on the climbs. Color matching is also a plus. Buy one, you won't regret it. To update. The seller is good, but I'm not sure about Ergon. I had a minor accident, one of the rails jumped out and the vinyl cover was torn. Ergon was not interested in…

Convenient for long trips.

I ride quite a bit in the desert and technically in the mountains. Horseback rides into the desert can last up to 4 hours. There are many good seats from different manufacturers. I like to try new products from time to time just to see how they look. Selle Italia and Specialized are two of my favorite stores. I also like the Ergon saddle. It's comfortable and looks well made. No problem on long tours. The only thing I don't like is that it squeaks and pops when you grab the saddle to move the…

very good saddle suitable for sport

Have been using Ergon products (grips) for many years. You are wonderful. I had hand injuries and they allow me to ride mtn bikes with no problem. I am interested in saddles. This is the most comfortable saddle I've ever had. I probably rode it about 40 miles. Just before I got the saddle I had a bad fall. I wouldn't drive without it now. It's an amazing piece of engineering. I really hope that I can put on more kilometers with this saddle. I drive in urban and suburban conditions with less…

Stable saddle, a bit stiff for everyday use.

First I bought the small/medium size after measuring the sit bones (look for the sit bones and a paper towel and you'll find good technique). Whatever it is, it's just not very good. So I ordered a size larger. That helped. During the first rides I had the feeling that the seat took a lot of pressure in certain areas. It wasn't what I would call super comfortable, but I found I preferred it to other seats I've had. It just has a low profile that feels unobtrusive. Definitely something in the…
