Pretty well done!

Nice well weighted hammer around the house. Ideal for chores, hanging pictures, the middle nail is hammered. Looks nice. Obviously at 120T this isn't a heavy jackhammer where 16 would be ideal. If you're looking for a hammer for all-day use, choose a soft grip.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent hammer

Excellent hammer still made in the USA good hammer well assembled I would give it four stars but with a company like this there should be more quality control and not just spit them out as much faster as possible! The finish is very poor, even around the head it doesn't look like whoever made it doesn't care about the quality of such a fine hammer. I know these hammers very well since I have about 20 of them, very disappointed !

The only one you'll ever really need.

I bought this hammer 47 years ago when I bought my first house. A retired contractor across the street taught me how to hammer nails, said I needed a heavier hammer for the carcass but ran out of money so I went for it. After five repairs it still vibrates well. I've hammered 16d knobs and nails with it, and what it lacks in weight in frame hammers it makes up for by being easy to use all day (light weight). No series hammer, but 100% universal.

All the best to me! YUP!

I have used Estwing hammers all my life. My father, who spent his adult life building and repairing, gave me his old ones. Once a perfectly balanced instrument, the Estwing is still a wonderful instrument. A leather handle is the only way out. Lasts almost forever. Although it may discolor after 20 years of use. Now that I'm retired I decided to upgrade it to a brand new one. When I needed a hammer, I decided on a 16 ounce curved hammer to replace the 20 ounce straight hammer. I LOVE IT! And as

Heirloom tool to fit hammer

This is the hammer of choice among tradespeople and carpenters (although some prefer a straight handle). It is well balanced and offers maximum controllable power over a small forward. The curved handle design provides maximum braking/lifting power while minimizing damage to the handle surface. The curved claw also reduces the risk of backswing and improves performance in tight spaces. Not only is the metal of this attractive hammer professionally finished, conditioned and finished, the leather

A sad day for Estwing quality

I grew up with my father's Estwing hammer and I know it has rightfully taken its place in the pantheon of great American tools. Unfortunately, either Estwing's quality control has caved in or Revain is supplying factory seconds. I'm looking at this model's returns head-to-head due to handle QC errors, both significant. The first hammer I received had a BENT handle. See photos. I didn't even know you could do that to Eastwing. Wow. The second hammer's leather disc handle was ground so unevenly…
