Does the job in hand tools

Used it a few times to connect devices to my home network. Removing old RJ45 connectors greatly simplifies cabling. The stripping tool works great, as does the cable tester. All in all a nice little set.

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Security

Does the job right.

Good, inexpensive cutting/stripping/crimping tool. It's not professional combat gear, but it works well. for the two types this tool is designed for. It would be handy for those who get it if they had the new ones handy.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Small parts

This product does not work well!

This product connects the plugs to the cable very poorly. It took me 7 tries before I could get the right connection that would test and work. The crimping tool is cheap and doesn't crimp the connector the same way every time. Save time and nerves and buy the best set.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • So-so

Nothing good to say

The crimping tool doesn't make a good connection (the cheap one from our local hardware store worked much better). The tester is complete nonsense. Even on cables that are known to be good, it still only shows 1, 4, 5 LEDs. Ethernet connectors are too wide for many devices. Edit: The seller just contacted me and offered compensation for removing this review. I will not.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad

Perfect set for crimps

Everything you need is included. All items are of very good quality. As long as you pay attention to the wiring (e.g. A vs. B) and straighten the wires for the plug, the crimping tool works well and without errors. The trace tool is great for checking your work. Easy to use. The kit includes many connectors and an Ethernet cable for the tracking tool. This price is also unbeatable.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • No machine

Works well - power and hand tools

I worked on network cabling at home and in the home office and used my brother's crimping tool. This tool is exactly the same as it is and works great. Finally no more borrowing network tools when I need to run a cable! It was a great price considering everything is included especially with toner so I can figure out which cable I'm trying to find in their stack. The toner saves a life when 10 wires come out of the wall and they all go to different rooms.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • thin

Good enough for a connector or two here and there

I made a few ends with this crimping tool and each time it squeezed the retainer on the connector just enough that it wouldn't snap on the device connected. You need to bend it back - and try to do so without creating a stress fracture. I didn't have this problem with my old (also cheap) pliers. Oddly enough, although it crumples the tab a bit, it's still a bit painful to pull the connector out once it's crimped. - through connections. I forgot to check what I bought - the passes are MUCH…

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Fine

PERFECT! Saved me from wrong wiring at home!

I bought it because it came with a battery power tester. It was about as expensive as a crimping tool without a network tester. MY GOD! This tester saved my house's life! We moved to a new house in 2018. I had to rewire my computer closet for the new switch I was installing. In the US, the most common home wiring is the standard T568B method. My builder wired the house using T568A. Who does that!? I was careful enough to test my wires before making new ethernet ends. When I tested the cable I…

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Disappear

Very good quality tools - all you need for Cat5/6 wiring jobs

I bought a crimping tool kit to have a full set of items I need for a fairly large Cat6a -need wiring work. The crimping tool is very strong and easily fits RJ45 connectors (both 26AWG and larger 23AWG offset wiring). The crimping tool has a ratchet to allow re-gripping for final pressure. However, the ratchet mechanism takes some getting used to. This is a good idea and works great once you master it. Shouldn't be a problem in normal operation. Strain relief covers (or socks as I call them)…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Hard to say
