Works on oily super fine straight hair!

My hair is shoulder length, super oily, baby fine. This product moisturizes and doesn’t weight it down. I can’t believe how soft it is! This product works better than its bottled brother and will be replacing at least 5 bottles of conditioner in my shower plus shave products. To use, I swipe the bar down my hair and then swirl the bar into my ends. I melt more product into my hands and work it into my hair. When I rinse, I make sure that my hair is still slick with a little still left in.I also…

Pros
  • 1.02 x 2.28 x 2.24 inches; 1.76 Ounces
Cons
  • Could cause buildup over time

Not as moisturizing as marketed.

I feel like my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt as I’m still going through the learning curve of trying to figure out how exactly to use a bar of conditioner. For the most part, my hair is 2B-3B and very low porosity with only minimal dyeing. However, it’s not an end all be all conditioner. It’s really light weight and probably will only work for you if you have straight/wavy hair, the second you have curls? It’s a no from me. Heaven forbid you use it on afro coils. Thankfully my…

Cons
  • Could leave a waxy or greasy residue

Great for fine hair

I have straight, fine hair that tends to get tangled so have been hesitant to try a conditioner bar but I've been super happy with Wonderbar! I was so surprised with how little of this product I had to use and love that my hair is not getting tangled up in the shower. This product has a nice mild scent and washes out well. I also appreciate that unlike other bars I've tried this one holds is shape and doesn't melt or break apart over time. Highly recommend!

Pros
  • Helps to prevent tangles and knots
Cons
  • May not be as easy to use as liquid conditioner

Hard to apply: my feedback

It's difficult to apply to long hair. I finally came up with a technique for even application, but it still took forever.

Pros
  • 859355007024
Cons
  • May not be effective for all hair types

Works great! A real frizz tamer.

The smell is good. Not too strong and hasn't caused me any allergy issues (I am a walking bag of histamines). I usually avoid all scented products, but I thought I would give this a try. No issues thus far. Feels nice going on. It lasts a LONG time, so it is worth the money. I use

Pros
  • Perfect for those with sensitive skin
Cons
  • Could leave hair feeling greasy or oily

I can 100% say that I am never going back to the bottle.

I can 100% say that I am never going back to the bottle. I bought the Frizz Wrangler shampoo and the Wonderbar conditioner. My hair and skin have never felt this healthy. The shampoo lathers pretty well. And the conditioner makes my hair so silky soft after just 2 minutes. All the tangles in my hair disappear while I rinse. A little goes a long way. I'm interested to see how long they last. Both products have a warm and gentle scent. I use the shampoo bar to wash my body as well. And for the…

Pros
  • Can be used on all hair lengths
Cons
  • May cause static or flyaways

It really works! - my new review

The first time I tried this bar soap and conditioner I was somewhat apprehensive. I have long hair and wondered how the conditioner bar would work. It all went smoothly! The size of the bars make it somewhat difficult for me to hold onto. However, I'm working to reduce my use of plastics and I think these bars are a great idea!

Pros
  • Improves hair texture over time
Cons
  • Could cause hair to feel stiff or crunchy

Truly a Wonderbar! good for me

In the past I have tried other conditioner bars and been burned by them. I have used Lush (which is not the cheapest) and another conditioner bar from Ethique with little success. They left my hair a tangled mess with little softness and a greasy feeling. Even liquid eco friendly conditioners did not treat my long, thick hair very well, leaving it frizzy and a tangled rat's nest. I ordered the Wonderbar, figuring I would give it a try as I am trying to go package free.Let me tell you, the…

Pros
  • Doesn't leave any residue or buildup
Cons
  • May not provide enough shine for dull hair

Blown away! - my new review

Trying out hair and body products that don’t use plastic. and are more travel friendly for an upcoming 5 week trip!Purchased: Ethique eco-friendly bodywash bar ; Ethique eco-friendly Conditioner bar for oily-normal hair; Ethique Shampoo bar for oily hair.Pros: The shampoo/conditioner bars worked like a dream and almost better than the bottled products I have in my shower! Shampoo bar lathered wonderfully and didn’t take a lot of work. The conditioner - I couldn’t tell if it was going on at…

Pros
  • Long-lasting and cost-effective compared to traditional conditioners
Cons
  • Could be difficult to travel with

Fine hair, flaky scalp, oily roots

My hair:Super fine strands, but a lot of hair.Blonde, natural (no coloring or highlighting).Straight hair.No thinning.Dandruff/flaky, itchy scalp (usually comes with oily buildup if I wait too long to wash my hair).Hard water.Slightly oily roots? (Usually washed every other day; by the end of day 2/start of day 3 it looks greasy)I’m new to bar shampoos and conditioners, so this review may be updated to reflect something different. But for now, here’s my first impression:I only applied this to…

Pros
  • Perfect for oily to balanced hair types
Cons
  • Could strip color from dyed or highlighted hair

Amazing for tangles!

I have very fine, yet curly, hair. I have always had a problem with it tangling, especially when I wash it. No conditioner has ever been able to stand the test of time, and trust me when I say I’ve tried them all, including leave in conditioners and oils. This bar is literally the first I’ve tried that hasn’t left my hair a tangled mess. It’s silky soft, but not greasy, which some products caused as well. It smells great. My hair stays curly but isn’t frizzy. I even saw that it could be used as

Pros
  • Formulated to be gentle on the scalp
Cons
  • Could cause breakage or damage if used incorrectly

Pro Tip for Smoother Application

PRO TIP: Vegetable peeler. At first I had a hard time getting enough product into my hair. I have a lot of fine, straight hair that I try not to rough up too much to avoid breakage. The direct bar-on-head method wasn’t working for me and my showers were taking too long while I tried to get more product on my hair. Enter the veggie peeler. I peeled a few strips of the conditioner bar into a soap dish (that stays out of the shower so it doesn’t all melt). I wet and warm a strip in my hands before

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • May not detangle hair as well as liquid conditioner

Packaged poorly good for me

I want to be clear that my issue is not with the product itself, I love ethique I’ve been using it for years, but with how it was packaged which goes directly against the products mission. Part of the appeal of ethique is doing my best to be environmentally friendly by going plastic free in the bathroom and I receive this shampoo wrapped in a plastic bag, defeating its purpose

Pros
  • Reduces plastic waste and environmental impact
Cons
  • May not work as well in hard water areas

Give it a try - my new review

I give the conditioner a 4 star because I felt even if I used a good bit of the bar up and down my hair, it didn't condition it too much. My hair was not greasy after, nor super soft though (I usually have thin hair and it can be soft with certain kinds of conditioner). It is lasting over 4 months though and great to travel with in the Ethique case!

Pros
  • Eco-friendly and plastic-free packaging
Cons
  • Could cause irritation or itching

Probably the best conditioner bar I've used

I really do like this conditioner bar. I started searching out low-waste alternatives to the shampoo/conditioner I used which comes in plastic. I've been through so many bars at this point (most of which were from lush). I don't particularly like the lush shampoo and conditioner bars. The conditioners from lush are definitely better than the shampoos (the shampoos contain sulfates) but they are much smaller and don't last nearly as long as the ethique bars. I bought the ethique bars in the…

Pros
  • Easy to travel with and won't spill or leak
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use on sensitive scalps
