Great for high frequencies

Ideal for dampening high frequencies, but still allows some wind noise. I've tried foam plugs and everything. They are the most comfortable, but still let a lot of noise through. I wear them under my helmet and they do the job I wanted them to. I didn't like the guy who cuts off too much noise as sometimes you start to lose situational awareness. Overall, I'd recommend them to other drivers, with the caveat that they don't cut out all of the sound, just most of the high frequencies. 2 months…

Pros
  • New, low-profile, footless design that fits snugly around the outer ear without protruding. Particularly comfortable to wear under caps, motorcycle helmets and other headgear.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Reduces noise without attenuating it, improves bass

Probably the best $25 I've ever spent on motorcycle gear. The ear tips fit my ears perfectly and work much better than the 3M foam ear tips I've used before. First, etymotika are much easier to insert, and the sound is much better: not muffled, just quieter. I've also found that these dampeners help improve bass when listening to music (which is usually absent due to the difficulty of making helmet speakers that make good contact with the listener's ears without causing discomfort). I'm not…

Pros
  • Reduces sound levels evenly so speech and ambient noise are clear and natural.
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

Exactly what I was looking for!

I already have a pair of Etymotic ETY earbuds and don't use them much yet. They are comfortable for long periods of time and are great for loud events/concerts when I need them. I travel with them, always in my backpack. I recently became a motorcyclist and bought a used Honda CB300F. While it's by no means a big bike, Yahoo, who owned it before me, removed the stock exhaust and put in what is essentially a decorative tailpipe tip. and the wheel is LOUD. For example VERY LOUD. It's great that…

Pros
  • Reduces the risk of hearing damage from loud machinery, vehicles, power tools, sporting events, concerts and entertainment venues.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
