Doesn't recognize 95% of the time

Update*** The customer service was really nice. They sent a replacement. After changing the settings every few days to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong, it still doesn't detect any movement. I get an alarm when someone presses the bell, but if someone just walks up to me or stands at my door, it isn't detected or alarmed. I have another great camera from Eufy. I'm disappointed in the doorbell. I really wanted to like this doorbell camera. After several weeks of use, it fails to detect 95%

Pros
  • Watch them arrive in Full HD: Get a crisp 1080p image from everyone who approaches your front door. The extended wide dynamic range and 4:3 aspect ratio ensure you get accurate head-to-toe color reproduction every time.
Cons
  • I will be silent

I was skeptical at first, as a longtime Ring user, better images and software integration, data can be stored locally, FREE, yes, no subscription fee. I have Arlo, Ring and now Eufy. Took the ring yesterday and now happy with Eufy. Arlo provides basic monitoring services as we can review records for 7 days what people need most. However, Ring has a very different business model as the user can only read the magazine if they pay a monthly fee. If so, they should provide HW for free with a…

Pros
  • 120 days of front door security: Wireless video doorbell and Wi-Fi chime form a closed, low-power wireless connection for 120 days of flawless operation. Door panels from one charge*.
Cons
  • So So

Update December 7th: Wireless was great - failed to connect to phone in over 100 real time calls/views. I've thought about buying a range extender or mesh wifi just for my Ring 2 which wouldn't connect almost half the time, but now with this Eufy that's no longer necessary. Conclusion: Top price-performance ratio. Fast and reliable doorbell connection and notification. Good motion detection sensitivity and video quality. Easy to set up. I had to lower the detection sensitivity to fix false…

Not sure. Now you can be.

I just wanted to write this review to help anyone who has doubts about this product. Of course everyone I know has a ring, but I'm cheap and didn't want another monthly payment! So I did a little research and this system came up. Yes, it's in two parts: a front doorbell system that stores an SD card (needs to be bought or removed from that 10 year old camera you haven't used in years, micro I guess) that stores all your videos that are on your phone are also included in the app, so you don't…

Pros
  • Your data is stored securely: every moment captured is stored locally on the Wi-Fi doorbell in your home with advanced encryption. (Micro SD card required)
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Outperforms the original doorbell in almost every way.

I bought this doorbell to replace my original "OG" ring doorbell which I have had since 2017. about 2 weeks on a single charge, this combined with difficulties connecting to wi-fi as well as a non-working internal ringer made me look elsewhere for battery powered options and eventually to this unit. Having installed this device for a few weeks, I have no hesitation in saying that this is a vastly superior device in almost every way imaginable. After two weeks, the device reports 91% battery…

Pros
  • Watch them arrive in Full HD: Get a clear picture of everyone approaching your front door in 1080p resolution. An extended wide dynamic range and 4:3 aspect ratio ensure you always get accurate color from head to toe.

I REALLY want you to like it. but

UPDATE 2. Now I have to disconnect and reconnect the ringer every day for the doorbell to work. Communication is terrible and now the device is almost permanently offline. This product does not appear to be well designed from this point of view. UPDATE 1: As of 11/16/20, video magically works in Alexa. I don't know if the Alexa skill has improved, but I've been able to watch live video a few times. However, this seems to come at a price as connectivity has become an even bigger issue. The chime
