🚧 Farmhouse Collection - Stairway Walk-Thru Baby Gate Review

This is a fairly well built gate but out of the box it is very warped. All attachment points are perfectly level, but first you need to attach the bottom bar and then bend the top bar to snap it into place. My wife tells me I'm the only one who notices, but it's very noticeable when it's closed and when it's open and the bottom is touching the wall and the top is almost two inches away. Cosmetic irritation aside, it works and is strong when closed.

We used this to keep the stairs away from our child. We need gates that don't use tension to secure them in place because our railings are a little wobbly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the gate itself has a slight kink (meaning it doesn't lay flat on the ground). It was easy to install, comes with a drill guide and seems very sturdy. Another bonus is that they look more stylish than regular white collars.

It is difficult to achieve a perfect attachment, which greatly affects the current operation of the door. A wall bracket in the right place would have been ideal, which we apparently didn't have. I have a love-hate relationship with this gate. I have to use my foot to make the bottom perfect by squeezing the top latch to open or close it. As others have said the gate came warped about 2 inches between the top and bottom of the gate. This made installation and operation difficult. I like the overall simple design and we still use it despite the warping as most top stair gates I've seen don't work with our existing handrails. When buying a gate, pay attention to the baseboard (we screwed the bracket through the baseboard) and the handrails if you are near stairs. We have already ordered a fourth of these types and we love them! There aren't many baby gates that are as affordable and beautiful as these. Goes very well with our modern design of a country house! No idea why the bad reviews. We think they are very easy to install and open. We even installed a railing at the base of our stairs using a piece of wood and zip ties.
