These batteries will not hold a charge

I purchased these batteries in March 2019. I usually change the batteries in my smoke alarms in June and December and they don't go bad because I HATE being woken up by that annoying low battery beep. I put these batteries in my 4 smoke detectors in June and none of them have lasted more than 4 months with some chirping and triggering as if smoke was present. The last time I changed the batteries I put new batteries in and the alarms went straight to low battery. I bought new Duracell batteries

These are not batteries, this is a 3rd party to beware of.

Very disappointed to learn that I have purchased 36 AA batteries which are 8 months old. Suggested sell date was 7-2019, I bought 2-2020. Have you ever heard of inventory rotation? This is the second chapter in Retail 101. I understand that this doesn't mean they are no longer good, but I do expect the seller to indicate that the product has expired so that I (the consumer) can make an informed decision . Update: So far these batteries have performed just as well as Duracell/Costco equivalents, plus they haven't leaked. I've had less than a year though, so I'll try to remind myself to come back to this review when I've had it for two years. I was very disappointed when I read on the packaging that these batteries are made in Indonesia. Not that I was negative about Indonesia, but I thought that Eveready premium batteries are made in the USA. I am happy to support products made in the USA…
