Description of Excel TWS 210ANS 7 Piece Adjustable Torque

Excel's new lightweight aluminum bodied Spoke Torque Wrench takes the guessing and fatigue out of building wheels and maintaining the desired tension of your spokes. Tightens all spokes identically to proper torque setting to maximize the highest strength capacity and reduce the likelihood of rim/hub/spoke breakage. Unlike other spoke torque wrenches, Excel's Torque Wrench is easily adjustable with a range of 15-60 inch-lb. and the new laser etched markings are easier to read. Excel's Torque Wrench Kit comes with 5 heads in the most common sizes: 6.1mm, 6.3mm, 6.5mm, 6.7mm, including the Spline Drive head and the new chamfered design allows for quicker adjustments. Additional and replacement heads are available in sizes ranging from 5.1mm to 6.9mm.

Otherwise good kit: Wrench

My spokes require the purchase of a 6.9mm socket, kit does not come with this size. Otherwise it's a good set, I'm happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Easy to maintain

I liked the fact that this key is adjustable because.

I've never used a spoke torque wrench to build a wheel and finally decided to take it a step further. I liked the fact that this wrench was adjustable as not all wheel sizes use the same torque.

Pros
  • Durability Test Results
Cons
  • Functionality

Not included 7th part, key handle? In the case there is a free place for a pen, but there is no handle. I received a 6-piece set? The set contained 5 wrench heads and 1 torque wrench (6 pcs). The handle is necessary for the initial loosening of the spoke nipples. This is odd as the instructions on the box have big warnings about using a grip instead of a torque wrench to initially loosen the spoke nipples and instructions on how to use them.

Pros
  • Wrench
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Honestly I know what I bought when I got this. You may even have to buy from them their torque wrench, which is a flexible meter wrench since this wrench is only rated for 60 inch-lbs. I had to order this plus a 6.9mm extra head as well as the crank itself without a torque wrench to be able to work with my wheel. Revain really should have an option for a full 10 piece set. I would look at another key with more options if I had to do it again.

Good well made tool

The tool works very well. It appears to be all metal construction, well made and engineered. Separate keys are easy to install and remove. I used this to tighten the spokes on my dirt bike. I started by cleaning any exposed threads on the needles, then loosened all the needles a quarter turn to loosen them, then pulled them back to their original position. They were all around 75% of target torque. Before tightening, I checked the concentricity and axial runout of the rim. I tightened and…

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
