Decent matchbox, I like it. This is a good fireman's kit for emergency hikes, it contains a lot of matches, it has space for some cotton and extra pads. If I had any complaints it would be the weight, it's a bit heavy but protects well.

This product suits my survival mentality. It is durable, waterproof and has multiple ignition surfaces for the different matches available. I chose this model rather than a smaller one from the same manufacturer just to be able to pack more matches. Despite being labeled "X-Large", it's still good and compact enough to carry around in my "man's handbag" every day.

When these matchboxes arrived, I put some cotton swabs inside and let the sealed boxes soak in a bowl of water for about an hour. The cases remained waterproof and the swabs were completely dry. However, the outer impact surface on the body began to delaminate. After drying I was able to glue the punch again. It's unlikely the case will soak through for that long or that badly with normal use, so I'm not concerned about that particular issue.

I love this product! My only comment is that it's a much darker orange than what's shown on the line. I would call it dark orange (verging on bronze) rather than bright orange like in the photo. I was very pleasantly surprised at how light it is compared to the weight of the cheaper plastic holders. It's also thinner than plastic blocks but still holds 25 UCO matches. I'm only taking off one star because mine had a small scratch on the packaging.

This is an EXCELLENT matchbox. Sturdy like all sockets, well integrated, holds a large amount of matches and there is NO DOUBT that it is WATERPROOF when needed. Excellent, multiple impact surfaces look like they're holding up well. Let's face it, that's way too much for a typical Boy Scout hike or family outing. But if you're looking for some serious gear to keep your serious stash of matches absolutely and totally ready to go, this is your matchbox.

I just have to say this could be one of the best, if not the best, match safes you can find! It just arrived and I could easily fit 25 storm proof matches, but some of these need to be turned upside down. Honestly I have no idea what that means. lol But I'm confident that whatever I put in this thing will stay just as dry. The Exotac is the Cadillac of outdoor gear. Top quality.
