They seem hard, I don't have any big chunks or anything. But the color isn't that great on most. I was hoping that turning it over would make the color better, but there is very little purple on the note I turned over. It just looks like your average dark brown tree. Maybe 3 or 4 empty squares are purple.

The product description states that the blanks measure 3.5" x 3.5". actually they are 0.75" x 0.75". The entire package must be 3.5 inches (it is not). That issue aside, it appears to have arrived in good condition. I have not removed the shrink wrap for further verification as I am returning due to a sizing error. They are too small for what I need them for.

Nice to write a review on such a product. My biggest complaint is that some of the samples smell so good that I really don't want to use them in projects. Remember how small these things are. If you have a lathe, they make great handle blanks. I just wanted a set of patterns that I could use for future projects. One of the nine pieces had a fairly gross crack going down with the grain (Yellowheart specimen). It would be useless as a blank for a pen. But in general, and on average, the wood is…
