Bought a tgis device over a month ago. It took me 3 weeks to install. Didn't work with cat5e from 100ft. I shortened the cable to 90. Then 75. Still not working, tried with 3 feet (worked). So I bought a new cct5e and cable tester but still didn't work with 90ft of cable, then called Tripp customer service (they sent me an HDMI amp). Now I get a signal but it doesn't last more than a few seconds. Now they say I need another product. The description states up to 100 feet in category 5e (without…

As stated in one of the other reviews

As stated in one of the other reviews they invariably fail every 1-2 years. I have a second set and even with a repeater it starts to throttle and then doesn't work at all. It's great at first, but don't expect it to last forever. After speaking to their support team, they showed no sympathy and just repeated what their guarantee is (and they always overdo it). I will NOT be ordering replacements again, I will try new things and generally stay away from Tripp Lite. It was the only option on the

Useless product and customer support

Wingspan was 75ft, light works but product does nothing. I spent 4-5 hours testing all the different methods. I even bought a second set because the plastic parts were missing from the first one. Revane instructed me to order a second set and return the first. So I kept the first sets just in case. I tried both sets and neither worked even at the 1 foot span when I tested them. Tripp Lite customer service advised me to buy one of their active units as these passive units do not fit all devices.

works fine except. on Cables & Interconnects

It took me a while to order this extension, but I finally got it. It took me 2 days to complete the category 6 wiring outside the walls but I managed it. We tried it first by hooking it up to a projector and a 6 year old blue ray I have and it worked fine. Then we watched a movie on my son's computer and had no problems. We finally hooked up a 2 year old game console 4 and it worked fine for the first 2 minutes, then the image flickered and couldn't be projected. Tried changing the PlayStation…

  • Not bad

I was very happy with the performance, but I was a little worried.

They worked very well for 30 months and then the receiver failed. I used all Cat6 connections, not 5. I was very happy with the performance but was a bit worried about the initial installation as both units ran quite warm. So not sure what I think of this product as my HDMI extender was $62/year without cables, wall plates etc. I was very pleased but not so much now. I replaced it with a cheaper competitor's product. which are also heated. I couldn't bring myself to buy them again, expecting…

Works but picky with CAT5e/6 cable

Inexpensive well made product but it didn't work with my existing internal CAT5e initially so I tried a few other cables: cables that didn't work (even after adjusting pot EQ): * Belden-M Datatwist CAT5e fiber optic cable, 50 feet (terminated by me, but tested with Paladin cable tester) * Comtran CAT6 fiber optic cable, 65 feet (terminated by me, but tested with Paladin cable tester ) * Aurum Cable CAT5e, 75 ft (Factory Terminated) Cables that worked: * Belkin CAT5 Patch Cord (not 5e), 6 ft…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Having problems

I used to sometimes run a 15 foot HDMI cable across my living room floor, from the TV's HDMI port on a wall to the sofa I'm sitting on . I have either an iPad or a laptop. I wanted to avoid tangled cables on the floor and find a clean solution. Using the Tripp Lite wall panels (I've posted two pics) I've managed to run the Category 6 cable down to the basement so the transmission panel is in the wall. behind my sofa I was very surprised that I was able to get a signal even with a few HDMI…

Excellent replacement for 25 " HDMI

I bought this unit to replace the 25 foot or so end of an HDMI cable with a single wall plate. The original setup had four more feet of HDMI cable and one more wall plate.I stream video and audio from a multimedia PC to a wall mounted flat screen TV. The first implementation had some signal quality issues. I rerouted everything to cut out the HDMI wall jack and short cable to get acceptable performance. As part of the Troubleshooting what turned out to be a graphics card issue, I replaced a wall

The product just works and works well! (but died after 8 months)

I'm switching to HDMI sharing between multiple TVs, abandoning the old method of pure RF modulation. Revain's reviews on this article made me skeptical that this would work properly, but since it was one of the few offerings that allowed simultaneous local and remote display of an HDMI signal over a single Cat5e wire, I took the plunge . After receiving these I connected both sides and the BAM system works perfectly, I didn't even have to touch the POT or make any adjustments. I know there are…

  • The cable is shorter than other options
