It works, but you won't get better sound.

It definitely works but the sound quality is very poor even with high quality electret condenser microphones. I was hoping I could get decent sound for podcasts and quick instrumental recordings with external mics. The built-in microphone sounds better. I've tried Sony, Olympus and Rhode electret capsules and all had lots of noise, which is not typical of any of these mics, even through a barely passable preamp. Good device and price but questionable design

They're great, especially for the price, but you can get a bad one. I used this on a Vive Pro HMD to get rid of the built in headphones and use an external headphone. UPDATE 01/17/20: Today's Windows update broke the drivers. Please let me know if anyone else has this problem. I'll have to buy another one from a different manufacturer (probably the same manufacturer with a different label, but still). Maybe a cool blue to match the headset. So if Windows decides to kill the driver with the next update, I'll at least have one that doesn't look so out of place. ._________________________________ OLD REVIEW: 100% exactly what it says on the tin and does what it
